De-IVA

After leaving the car for 2 months with the dealer for it's PBC and IVA, I finally got the call that it had passed and I could collect the car. Caterham Silverstone sent off the registration the moment they had the IVA pass certificate in their hands so they did it much quicker than I could have. I decided that I would collect the car ASAP on a trailer so I could "de-IVA" it and put on the upgrades before the registration is complete. I'll also use this time to sort out insurance for the road as my build up insurance only covers the car in the garage and transportation to and from dealers/IVA locations.

Seeing the car on the forecourt after these few months away was nice, I couldn't get the smile of my face and the PPF did look great in the flesh. Also I got them to put plates on the car which on an SV don't look out of place. My black/red/white colour scheme also leant nicely to the front plate looking like it should be on there.

The first task I wanted to complete was to put the car back to how I wanted it before the IVA, so this meant changing the indicator pods back to clear, the wheels back to the KN 8 spokes which I prefer, and removal of the glaringly obvious IVA text on the dashboard! Thee labels were easy enough to remove with my fingers and then I used wonder wipes to clean up the residue that was left. I also noticed that they had trimmed my passenger wiper for me so it no longer clashes on the top of the windscreen.

I'd also had the XPEL PPF fitted during the PBC, they stuck a sticker in the cockpit in plain sight, which peeled off easily, I then chose to apply it under the bonnet, I guess it may be used incase of a warranty/guarantee claim.
